Te Rarawa and Ngati Whatua
Ramon Te Wake (Te Rarawa, Ngati Whatua) – is a writer, director and performer. She has 21 years’ experience across stage, film and television.
She is the creator of the comedy series The Boy, The Queen, And Everything In Between. She directed the award winning documentary Trans + Pregnant and her short film, Wait, Wait, Now! screened at the BFI Flare LGBTIQ+ London Film Festival earlier this year and it was also chosen for the Five Films For Freedom programme, The (5) films were watched by 2.2 million people, in over 160 countries. It continues to have a successful festival run.
She is the co-director of the award winning film, Inky Pinky Ponky. And she Executive Produced Transgenerations, which won best web series at the Berlin Short Film Festival in 2023. Ramon appeared in Rūrangi, which won an International Emmy for best short form series in 2023.
She is in pre-production for her next short film Are You Done? A romantic drama and she is in development for her feature film - What Rides Are For ... and Georgina The Great a documentary Feature Film.
