KUPU KI TE PEPA, HEI KOHA - Words to paper as a gift

2.15pm, Saturday 18 October

This panel brings together leaders in the publishing industry who are championing Māori voices. Peter Dowling, who has over thirty years’ experience in publishing and is the founder of Oratia Books, will facilitate this session with Mairātea Mohi, writer, editor and publishing associate te reo Māori at Auckland University Press; Jasmine Sargent, editor (Māori) at Te Herenga Waka University Press; and Pania Tahau-Hodges, director at Huia Publishers and author.

These editors work closely with both emerging and high-calibre writers to refine stories, support their literary journeys, publish and market pukapuka, and more. Join us for this inside scoop on what goes on behind the scenes with the books you love.
