HEI TUKU IHO - Stories for the next generation

This panel will feature Qiane Matata-Sipu, author of NUKU: Stories of 100 indigenous women, Ngā Kupenga a Nanny Rina, and My First Ikura, and winner of the 2021 New Zealand Women of Influence Awards for Arts & Culture, alongside renowned children’s author Stacy Gregg (The Last Journey, Nine Girls, The Princess and the Foal) and the director of the Master of Creative Writing programme at the University of Auckland, Paula Morris (Rangatira, On Coming Home, False River, Forbidden Cities).

This session will focus on crafting stories for the next generation and mentoring emerging authors. This upfront and intimate wānanga will delve into the purpose, research and inspiration that drives these wāhine toa.
